After I am back from my 2-month holiday trip in India, I had a hard week. Had to tidy up the entire home with a kid lingering at my feet. Who doesn't want some fresh air after a hard week! Following weekend we packed only our kid's lunch. We bought our's in Waitrose on the way to Ardingly Reservoir near Haywards Heath. It's a very beautiful picnic place for family and friends with well-marked natural trails.

Free car parking and nice park benches here and there. Few trails are wheelchair and buggy friendly but need an extra effort while pushing. More info on each trail can be found near the car park area with information boards. There are marshlands and birds hideout which are closed at this time. There is an activity centre where visitors can go for watersports like sailing, powerboating, paddle boating, surfing, etc.

We picked an easy kingfisher trail. A lovely sunny walk along the reservoir with spectacular views. We watched a family paddle boating on the water. Our kid walked most of the path and enjoyed the walk picking up the sticks and watching the dogs. We could spot speckled wood butterflies and a few wild ducks. We couldn't cover the entire stretch as I sprained my ankle and had to return home. My fault! didn't pick the right shoes for the walk.
